What you need to know.

Turning a photovoltaic system into a sound investment.

  1. The Renewable Energy Sources Act

    You profit from environmental protection
A photovoltaic system produces environmentally friendly electricity for more than 20 years – active environmental protection which the state rewards via remuneration for solar electricity. In many European countries there is an attractive tariff fixed by law.
  2. Yield and quality

    Two inseparable factors
With a good photovoltaic system, you can easily achieve a yield of more than 5 % per year. In the case of a service life of over 20 years, in particular, it is not only the purchase price which is a decisive factor, but also reliably high electricity yields and smooth operation. Blue-chip solar-power companies offer customers maximum security for their investment.
  3. The ideal roof

    Pay attention to basic conditions
The ideal „European“ roof for a photovoltaic system faces south at an inclination of between 15 and 45 degrees, though east/west roofs are also suitable. The module surface should not be subject to shading. Even partial shading of individual solar panels can lead to an unwanted reduction in yields.
  4. Suitable modules

Maximise output from the roof surface area available
Per kilowatt rated output you need approx. 8 m2 of roof surface area for the "blue" crystalline modules and approx. 16 m2 for the "dark" thin-layer modules. Crystalline technology is the solution of choice when it comes to getting high performance out of a limited space. Thin-layer modules, on the other hand, perform better in poor light conditions. This is also a favoured option where orientation and inclination are not ideal.
  5. Long performance guarantees

Count on performance guarantees from experienced module manufacturers for maximum security
The service life of a good photovoltaic system is over 25 years. Module manufacturers such as Schott Solar or Sovello even guarantee performance for between 25 and 30 years. Systems are fundamentally maintenance-free. However, you should expect 2 to 3 repairs within this 20-year period. Make sure you set aside a reserve of 1 % of the purchase price per year.
  6. Attractive financing options

Pay attention to preconditions for attractive financing options
Banks are willing to finance high-quality photovoltaic systems. An important precondition for this could be the safe disposal of photovoltaic modules. Make sure when purchasing that the module manufacturer is a member of the recycling association "PV Cycle".

Last but not least:

Your photovoltaic system protects the climate.
An optimally installed photovoltaic system in Germany produces about 1000 kWh per kWp system rated output per year.

By the way:
In southern countries the output is of course higher!
